SM project: Double disc hub SM
Designed to withstand the demands of competitive racing and tackle increasingly technical circuits, this hub sets itself apart from conventional solutions by introducing an innovative tangential spoke pattern and revised brake disc mounting geometry.
The new dimensions allow the use of brake discs with a low-profile, flat carrier, making them more compact than conventional dished carriers. By moving mass closer to the axis of rotation, the gyroscopic effect is reduced, delivering greater agility through rapid direction changes and maximum control under hard braking. To combine maximum strength with minimum weight, the hub structure has been further refined with strategically positioned pockets and lateral weight-relief machining.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
- Geometry & mounting layout: moves the mounting points outward to accommodate brake discs with low-profile, flat carriers, centralising mass and reducing rotational inertia during direction changes.
- Tangential spoke pattern: optimises spoke angle to distribute loads evenly, even under the most extreme landings.
- Weight-relief machining: strategically machined pockets and lateral reliefs remove unnecessary material to keep overall weight to an absolute minimum.
- CNC-machined from solid billet: fully machined from solid billet to minimise weight while eliminating structural flex, even under the hardest braking.
